One thing I have hated is plastic shower curtain liners. They used to stink forever. Turns out plastic shower curtains actually LOSE WEIGHT over time, pumping chemicals into your shower for you to inhale every morning. I eventually bought an organic cloth shower curtain that works fine but was outrageously expensive. I won't even tell how much.
But now, at Wegman's, in the home cleaning and paper towel area, are two solutions acceptible to me and neither one cost more than $7.
One is the PEVA shower curtain liner. It is made of translucent polyethylene vinyl acetate by Royal Crest Home Products, Inc. There seems to be no outgasing from this product. It says it is a "non-PVC" product. I have got it up now and there is no smell whatsoever. I am happy with this.
The other one is white fabric. I will put that up later if I ever get the showers tiled.
Oh, and for those of you with cast iron bathtubs and not plastic ones, both shower curtains have three magnets at the bottom to hold the curtain to the tub, a nice touch.

And when you shower, you put the liner inside the tub, nicely magneted to your tub/shower so it doesn't cling soggily, and coldly, to your damp body. And the beautiful curtain hangs ptistinely on the outside.
