Today the crew uncovered a host of interesting wall construction. The garage had the same sideways 2x4s, with homasote between, but the inner layer of 2x4s had only about 1/2" of bearing on the sill plate. So instead of keeping this, they removed the homasote and inner 2x4s, and reframed the stud wall. There is now plenty of room for insulation and the wall is sturdier than before. The north garage door has been removed and taken to "the barn," for recycling into something.
The north wall is now ready for sheathing, drain wrap and the door.
