Day 180

Outside we have grass seed and straw laid down over the new topsoil. A very nice farmer sold me 11 bales of straw on Sunday. And I learned that one way to get waved at on the country roads in upstate New York is to drive around with 11 bales of straw in the back of your Chevy pick up truck. Oh, and wear a baseball cap. I got way more waves and smiles than when I drive my Prius. ;-)
Tom and Adriel headed inside this morning to do some demo work in the basement. They removed some ductwork, and when they looked inside found a layer about 2" deep of dust. Adriel said that if we were really cold we could have used the dust as a blanket, it was so thick and deep. Whew, makes me sneeze just to think about it!

Your "grass" looks inviting with promise for this summer. This is looking more and more like a dream coming true. Wonder if Mr. Blanding felt this way...(stretch)
Remember to talk to and sing to the new little blades.

I love it that you got the waves on the country roads while driving with the straw. Like you've joined a club. We belonged to a club like that when we had our teeny Austin Healy Sprite the year we were in Salt Lake.
