
Zack & Adriel work on the exterior insulation for the south side of the house.
First the cedar sills go up, then a wood nailer all around the windows and doors, for a surface to attach the cement board trim to.
We got lucky with the cedar sill. The lumber yard had only one piece of cedar that was a 10-foot-long 2 x 12. It was so old that we got it at pre-inflation prices, and were able to rip it into three 2x4s, getting a lot of sill for a great price.
