Today Tom and Adriel finished stripping all of the homasote and shingles off the upper east wall of the main house.
They also got a good start at sheathing and framing for the new window (a double French casement, which will open without a center mullion to allow for emergency egress.) But when they opened up the wall there was an electrical outlet in the way of where the new jack stud needed to be, so things took a little longer than expected. Which is what you have to expect in remodeling.

Glad you put in an egress. Always concerned about emergencies. Those ladders that throw down from inside the window are prevalent and not too hugely expensive.

I love the upside down shingles in the background of the interior shot... and your contractors are such good sports with you snapping photos of them working!
