Today's task is to start the rebuilding of the east wall of the garage. After you take out two 8'x8' doors, there isn't much structure left, so we'll rebuild it out of 2x6s to get more insulation value. The plan also is to add two courses of Concrete Masonry Units (concrete block or CMU) at the bottom, so that we can raise the grade here so that the water runs away from the house, and not straight to it!

Good thinking... having the water flow away from the house... much to be desired. Aren't you glad you remembered that? Did you have an experience with flooding?
would now be a good time to tell you that I saw your light fixture at Marshall's for $20 today. ;)
