More demo! All of the casements in sunroom removed. Siding removed down to the stud framing. When the siding is removed we discover that Mr. Hummel, who built the house in about 1945, was ahead of his time in using recycled materials. He'd be called "green" today; then he was just called "frugal."
The west wall sheathing is short pieces of 4" T&G, the north wall is 8" T&G. The headers are 4x4 timbers. After discussion, the contractors decided to cover the sheathing with plywood to increase stability and provide better surface for the drain-plane housewrap.
